Random, Useless Information (aka a survey)!

1. What time did you get up this morning? 8:40... gotta love those early morning phone calls! (Especially since we tumbled into bed at 2 AM)

2. How do you like your steak? Ok, confession: I never had an entire steak by myself until I came to Thailand. Isn't that weird? Anyway, I prefer my well done:).

3. What is your favorite TV show? When we had a tv, it was Little House on the Prairie.

4. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Hmm, not quite sure yet!

5. What did you have for breakfast? Toast with peanut butter.

6. What’s your favorite cuisine? Based on the amounts of Mexican food I've consumed recently, I suppose that must be it!

7. What foods do you dislike? Curry of any kind. Tried it and it tastes like dish soap to me.

8. Where is your favorite place to eat? In Thailand it would have to be Que Pasa - we happened to go there tonight so my mind is on that;).

9. What is your favorite salad dressing? It's a toss-up between Ranch and Thousand Island.

10. What kind of vehicle do you drive? Nothing at the moment! In the States it's a Toyota Corolla.

11. What are your favorite clothes? Jean skirt and a comfy shirt.

12. Where would you visit if you had the chance? Scotland.

13. Is the cup half empty or half full? Half full.

14. Where would you want to retire? Retire?

15. What is your favorite time of the day? Early evening.

16. Where were you born? Allentown, PA.

17. What is your favorite sport to watch? Football for sure!

18. Are you a bird watcher? Only if the bird happens to be right in front of me.

19. Are you a morning person or a night person? Definitely night. I tried the whole morning thing and it just didn't work for me.

20. What did you want to be where you were little? A teacher.

21. What’s your best childhood memory? Playing with my siblings. Seriously! I loved running down to the park just a couple of blocks away with them:).

22. Do you always wear your seat belt? Ok, another confession: I always do in the States, but the only time I wear a seat belt in Thailand is when I'm in the front seat.

23. Do you have any pet peeves? People who cluster around an entryway, thereby blocking it for other people.

24. Favorite type of pizza? Cheese and pepperoni. I cannot wait to have some real, honest-to-goodness gooey pepperoni pizza when I return to the States! Pizza Hut here in Thailand just doesn't cut it:).

25. Favorite flower? I don't know the name of it, but there is a pretty, pink-tinted flower that grows all over Thailand.

26. Favorite ice cream? Midnight Brownie from Swenson's. Mmmm, mmmm!

27. Have you done anything spontaneous lately? I walked to 7-Eleven tonight. Does that count?

28. Do you like your job? Yes, for sure!

29. Do you like broccoli? Oh yes, especially cooked.

So I guess since I've been tagged twice, I have to come up with 12 non-important things/habits/quirks about myself... Hmm, let me think. Ok, here goes:

1. I don't know why, but often I'll be in the middle of saying something or doing something random when the camera clicks... case in point:
   
   
   
2. I think I might have mentioned this a long time ago when I first started the blog, but I have lots of new readers so I can say it again:o). I only have one contact - in my left eye. My eye doctor basically said it would defeat the purpose to have one in my right eye, so it works out for me in not getting confused!
3. I eat with my right hand but do most everything else with my left.
4. I prefer typing over writing.
5. I like to count cross stitch while I watch a movie.
6. I dislike talking on the phone, unless it's to a sister/sister-in-law.
7. I would rather go to work in the late afternoon and working until midnight... it's always so quiet then! But alas, I can't do that.
8. It doesn't take much to get me to laugh.. pretty much all you have to do is have a goofy grin on your face (or something along those lines!) and I'll burst into laughter:o).
9. I am 5 feet 1 1/2 inches. That 1/2 inch is important to me, since I'm constantly being told I'm short - which I am:o).
10. I prefer doing a lot of things by myself, which is why I'm often jumping in the car to take a drive:o).
11. I do not like coffee or soup - which is almost a sin for some people:o).
12. I have a lisp... who is the cruel person that put that "s" in "lisp" anyway???

Christmas Fun!

Jendi tagged me for this meme a little bit ago and since I forwarded this along to about 20 girls via e-mail, I figured I would post it here too:o). Feel free to consider yourself tagged in doing this meme if you haven't done it yet!


1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I normally go with gift bags unless I'm watching a movie and want something "to do" and then I wrap.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Real:o)
3 . When do you put up the tree? For the past couple of years we haven't done one; when we used to do it, it was usually early December. This year we actually got one for free so we'll be putting it up soon!
4. When do you take the tree down? Right around January 6th or 7th.
5. Do you like egg nog? Nope.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? My Pound Puppy... he was my favorite for years!
7. Do you have a nativity scene? My mom has a pretty ceramic one she made.
8. Hardest person to buy for? Without a doubt, my dad.
9 . Easiest person to buy for? My sisters.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail Christmas cards for sure!
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? A sketching pad when I was about 7... I hated to draw and it was one of a couple gifts I got that year.
12 . Favorite Christmas movie? I like Little Women because it starts out being Christmas. I guess It's A Wonderful Life would have to be the classic Christmas movie:o).
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? As I see things all throughout the year.
14 . Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? If I wasn't going to use it then yes.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Poppy seed Roll.
16 . Clear lights or colored on the tree? It depends... if all the decorations are quaint and elegant then clear. But if everything is a little more festive then color.
17. Favorite Christmas song? Hmmm... I'm not sure. I guess when I think of all the "traditional" songs it would have to be "Little Drummer Boy". But we've done cantatas for several years now and I always remember the song "Let the Joy Begin" (the real title is Joy to the World, but that could get confusing:o).
18. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star.
19. When do you open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Sometime on Christmas Day. We would always wait until everyone in the house came downstairs and then we would open the gifts one at a time, starting with Dad and finally ending with me! It was a really nice way to do it, and that way we got to share in everyone's gifts.
20 . Most annoying thing about this time of year? The covetousness.
21 . Favorite ornament theme or color? I have a few ornaments that were handmade by people who are no longer alive so those are kinda special.
22. Favorite for Christmas dinner? I'm not too picky besides having Cranberry Sauce! I LOVE cranberry!!!
23. Favorite Christmas memory? When we had 20 family members over for dinner.
24. What do you want for Christmas this year? I don't want anything (unless it's a ticket back to Thailand!) The Lord has abundantly blessed me by meeting my needs.

A - Available/Single? I'm single and really enjoying it! A friend wrote me a card on the day I graduated from high school and said to use this season of singleness for God. I took her advice, and haven't been sorry :o).
B - Best Friend? Hmm, that's a tough one. I don't have one specific one... but I do have 5 extremely close friends and half of them are family! (so how's that for avoiding the question?;)
C- Cake or Pie? Definitely pie... specifically pumpkin!
D - Drink Of Choice? Water
E - Essential Item You Use Everyday? Deoderant

U - Unknown Fact About Me? I'm not quite sure how I'm supposed to know if it's unknown or not because I already know it! But I'll scribble down a few: I sleep-walk, talk in my sleep, and snore. I am shy with a group of people I don't know very well, but usually handle a crowd ok. One of my favorite things to do is to light a candle, play music, and snuggle under a blanket with a good book. I'm very spontaneous and yet un-decisive at times. Basically I'm a study of contrasts!

W - Worst Habit? Shouldn't that be habits? I have several that annoy myself and others so I'll spare you!
