Are You Thankful? If So, Please Share!

My church supports a missionary and his family in Indonesia and he recently sent out an e-mail update. Now whenever this missionary updates, I always laugh because they have such a practical view on life! Living in Indonesia means you're going to have some unique and unusual experiences. After reading this e-mail, I came to one of the closing paragraphs and thought it was too good not to share:

We hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving. The Pilgrims were so thankful with so little. May we too be content and thankful for all that God has given us. If your roof doesn’t leak, you are doing better than at least 90% of the people here. If you can read and write, you are doing better than a great many people in the world. If you don’t have wild frogs seeking refuge in your house consider yourself blessed! If your doctor can read an x-ray, be thankful. If God has forgiven your sins, praise Him.

How's your perspective on life today? If life is good for you (and after reading that last paragraph, I'm fairly certain we all can say life is good!) do me a favor and tell me one think for which you are thankful. I'm thankful today for the nice, cool, breezy weather we're having!

Your turn!

:)

I am so thankful that God has blessed me with my amazing life. I am married to my best friend, and I have 2 sweet children. I have a wonderful church with a godly pastor who preaches the truth of God's Word. God allowed me to be born in the USA where I have more than plenty, and raised in a Christian home where I learned the truth of God's salvation. Adam's job pays the all bills and I stay home full time. I do not fear for my children's safety, health, or well-being. Clean water comes out of the faucet, fresh food is in the fridge, and there are extra blankets on the beds. I have Jesus, who sticks closer than a brother, and loves me when I am unlovable,, and gives me abundant grace and mercy, and so much more...

I have so much Anne, so much. I am thankful, but not thankful enough, I know. I hope you enjoy counting your blessings as well.

I'm thankful for all the witnessing opportunities I've had at my job, and even all the temporary friendships I've formed there before employees moved on to other places. I'm thankful I don't have stories to tell of being in a work release program like some of the women I work with, because that means I've never been in jail. I'm thankful I can walk to work and not have to worry about catching the city bus (bus headaches are reserved for days I have classes in Allentown). And as the economy gets shakier and unemployment rates slowly creep upward, I'm simply thankful for a job as well!

I've just been dwelling on work. And I haven't even waxed eloquent on blessings like my home, my church, my friends.....you get the point!

Today I am thankfull for God's forgiveness and peace. No matter how many times I have failed Him, He has always drew me right back to Himself. Praise The Lord! (Oh, and I am very thankful that my doctor can read x-rays and much more!) : )

Well then consider me blessed, cause my roof doesn't leak!---But even if it did leak, I'd still be blessed!

I'm thankful for the seasons. I've been a little bummed about the cold but I so enjoy the snow. So I am thankful for cold weather that brings beautiful snow. (Hopefully some will come tomorrow.)
