Exceeding Abundantly.

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."

~Ephesians 3:20~

I've kind of claimed this verse for this year as I prepare to go back to Thailand and also in regards to graduating. Monday I called a friend up to let her know about my graduation, and of course she was excited. Tuesday night my sister-in-law (in Indiana) called me and I mentioned the graduation and of course she was excited and reminded me that her offer of her going with me to South Dakota was still good! While my sis-in-law and I were talking, I realized my brother is getting married a week after I graduate... a wedding which my brother and sis-in-law plan to attend. So she suggested I fly out to Chicago, drive up to South Dakota with her, and then come back to Pennsylvania with them when they come in for the wedding.

So Wednesday morning I went to the school principal and asked if that would be a feasible plan and he agreed! Obviously taking off 6 days of school is not the best idea, but it will be at the end of the school year (most of the kids will be done a week or two after), so it should work out fine.

I went to go call my friend (the same one I called on Monday) but then felt the Lord telling me to wait. I'm glad I listened! I called her one hour later and shared with her what the school principal said about me taking time off of work. She was excited and then said that she wanted to pay for my (one-way) airline ticket! I was very shocked and surprised, but was truly thankful for the Lord's provision.

She started looking up airline tickets right away and then noticed an e-mail she had gotten from Southwest Airlines. Here Southwest was running a $49-$99 special (that ends today), but the email came after I had originally wanted to call her. She ended up getting the ticket for $78.00, but just suppose I had called her when I originally wanted to call her. She would have still wanted to get my ticket, but she would not have known about the deal on Southwest and would have probably paid a lot more than $78.00!!!

Isn't the Lord good?!?!

In the midst of all of this, I would ask you to pray for one thing, if the Lord brings it to mind. My mom would really like to come to the graduation, but is not sure if my dad is going to let her. For those of you who know my dad personally, you know what this means! Would you please pray for God's will to be accomplished and that my mom would have peace with His will either way? If "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD" (Proverbs 21:1), then so is my dad's heart!

God is good! I will pray that your Mom can go - I so wish I could go too but I don't think I can :-(
